The 500G featured Electric Eye, which was CdS photocell that automatically set right lens opening for optimum result at any time. Manual lens-opening setting was also possible. The 500G also offered a coupled rangefinder with parllax correctin mark, a built-in self-timer, and a hot-shoe.
